Requesting a copy of Indo-Russian IGA on liability of Kudankulam reactors 1 & 2

The People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) has appealed to the public to send postcards to Russian Embassy in New Delhi to provide a copy of the Indo-Russian Inter-Governmental Agreement on liability of reactors 1 and 2 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project.

In a statement, PMANE claimed that the people of southern districts were sending postcards to the Russian Embassy in New Delhi demanding a copy of the Indo-Russian Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) “signed secretly by New Delhi and Moscow” in 2008 on KKNPP 1 and 2 liability. The PMANE that commemorated the ‘Hiroshima Day 2012’ as the ‘Nuclear-free Tamil Nadu Day’ organised a candle light procession on Monday around Idinthakarai, the hub of anti-Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project protests.

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi president and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan addressed a meeting that followed the procession.
