Chief Educational Officer R. Swaminathan attributed the continuing good performance of the schools to the voluntary and dedicated service of teachers.

“That every district takes efforts to give additional care to slow learners is universal. But, here the teachers through their sincere efforts have made the difference,” the CEO said.

Heads of schools had a competitive spirit and kept motivating their teachers. “In our part, we organised motivational classes for slow learners. Even counselling was given to the students who did not show much interest in studies,” Mr. Swaminathan said.

The officials, through the corporate social responsibility funds from different organisations, supplied special guidance books for slow learners. “We have also been recognising the efforts of teachers and heads of schools who come up with distinction,” he added.

The district has missed the top slots only on two occasions ever since its formation.
