PFI to intensify campaign across State

The Popular Front of India will intensify its campaign across the State demanding the implementation of Justice Rajindar Sachar and Justice Ranganath Misra Committee recommendations on uplifting the Muslims by giving them 10 per cent reservation in education and employment opportunities, the party’s newly elected president M. Mohamed Ismail has said.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Mr. Mohamed Ismail said the Muslims, who were found to be the poorest of the poor in several parts of the country, especially in the north India owing to range of reasons, could be uplifted only if the recommendations of Justice Rajindar Sachar and Justice Ranganath Misra Committees were implemented.

“If the adequately available resources in the country are shared equally among all communities, the lopsided growth causing social inequality would have vanished long back,” Mr. Mohamed Ismail noted.

Mr. Ismail said the PFI, which had identified five ‘neglected villages’, was working for the development of those hamlets by empowering the residents from all communities in education, skill development and livelihood. The unemployed youths were being given skill-based trainings so as to make them employable.

“The corporatisation of the country will affect the already affected the marginalised and the poor,” he said.
