The pass percentage in the Class X exams in the district witnessed an increase of 0.85 from the 94.38 registered last year and stood at 95.23 this year.
Segment-wise, the pass percentage in the Government, matriculation and Government aided schools showed an improvement while the pass percentage dipped in the case of the municipal and self financing schools.
The overall pass percentage in the Government schools stood at 92.85 and that in matriculation schools at 99.56. Pass percentages in other segments were municipal schools- 88.07; Government aided schools- 96.80 and self finance schools- 99.24.

Of the total 30,157 students (14,889 boys and 15,268 girls) who wrote the SSLC examinations this year, 28,718 students (13,926 boys and 14,792 girls) emerged successful. Pass percentage of boys stood at 93.53 and that of girls at 96.88.

The district could rejoice as three students from here obtained first rank, 12 students got second rank and 20 students got third rank at the State level this year.

Among the 320 schools in the district which sent students to the SSLC examination this year, as many as 164 schools managed to get cent per cent pass results.
Of the schools that got cent percent pass, 117 were matriculation schools, 39 were Government schools, four were Government-aided schools, three were self finance schools and one was a municipal school.
