Nathuram’s wife arrested in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan police on Sunday arrested Manju, the wife of Nathuram, who was absconding after assaulting a police team from Chennai.

According to Deepak Bhargav, Superintendent of Police, Pali district, Rajasthan, the Jaitaran police team that was tracking Nathuram and his aides nabbed Manju, 26, from Malawas village in the Jodhpur rural limits. “Manju was in Chennai for sometime. She is wanted in many burglary cases both in Chennai and Rajasthan,” he said.

The Hindu. “ After the incident, Nathuram left her in a relative’s house from where she was arrested. She will be produced before a court in Rajasthan and taken into police custody,” Mr. Bhargav said.

Meanwhile, senior police officers in Rajasthan said that two guns, a cover and bullets had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Jaipur.

“We already registered an FIR based on a complaint given by inspector Munisekar. Now, initial investigations suggest that Mr. Munisekar might have accidentally fired at his colleague. Once the investigation confirms this, action will be taken against him,” a police officer said.

Earlier, the police arrested Tejaram and his family members, who gave shelter to Nathuram and his gang. Dinesh Chowdhary, the accused number 2 in the Kolathur robbery which the police team had gone to investigate, was also arrested a few days ago.
