In the wake of an accident involving a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus plying to Hogenakkal a few days ago, R. Sakthivel, Superintendent of Police, ordered monitoring the movement of heavy vehicles on ghat roads.

The SP directed the personnel of the district police to check vehicles on ghat roads leading to the hill station of Yercaud and Karumanthurai for over-speeding, over-loading and transporting people.
