He demands an adjournment motion in the Parliament to discuss the issue in detail

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder Thol. Thirumavalavan on Wednesday warned that India could soon experience economic hardship like Sri Lanka if it does not fix economic policies and demanded for an adjournment motion so that the economic issue can be discussed in detail in the Parliament.

Mr. Thirumavalavan said, “India is also on the cusp of an economic meltdown like Sri Lanka. It is because of the skewed economic policies devised by the Modi government to favour two people in India, which is resulting in high fuel prices and unemployment.”

In a formal letter to the Secretary-General of Lok Sabha, demanding a debate, Mr. Thirumavalavan said, “The economic crisis in Sri Lanka has turned into a political crisis. The huge economic imbalances created by the concessions shown to one or two super rich people, close to the government, rising unemployment due to the destruction of public sector enterprises, skyrocketing prices due to unjust taxation of petrol and diesel by this government, are pushing India into an economic crisis like Sri Lanka. This urgent matter should be discussed by adjourning the business of the Parliament.”
