Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Pon. Radhakrishnan on Monday said Gujarat Chief Minister and party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was alone capable of tackling terrorism effectively.

Condemning the Patna serial blasts that left five persons dead and many others injured, Mr. Radhakrishnan said the explosions were triggered at a time when the people of India were eagerly looking forward for Mr. Modi’s speech at the ‘Hunkar’ rally.

“Only Mr. Modi as Prime Minister can take firm action and prevent such attacks. It is the responsibility of the voters to ensure that no candidate of the Congress is elected from Tamil Nadu…,” he said after leading a demonstration to condemn the blasts.

The BJP would take out a ‘padayatra’ in December to thank the people across the State for their support to Mr. Modi. Many people from different walks of life were joining the party, he said.

Senior BJP leaders L. Ganesan, H. Raja were among those present. Earlier a one-minute silence was observed to pay homage to those who were killed in the Patna blasts.
