Mild tremors were felt for a few seconds in the areas between Vadakarai-Achan Puthur up to Kalakadu near Tenkasi in Tirunelveli district today, a top police official said.
According to Tenkasi DSP Pandiarajan there were no damages.
Panic-stricken people came out of their houses in some areas.

The tremors were felt for a few seconds at about 5.30 p.m., police said.
