MDMK man climbs mobile tower

An MDMK cadre climbed a mobile tower in Thanippadi protesting Vaiko’s decision not to contest in the election from Kovilpatti, the constituency from which he was supposed to contest as per original candidates’ list of his party.

Dhayalan (45), District Executive Committee member of MDMK and a resident of Thanippadi climbed upto 200 feet of the 500 feet mobile tower located at old post office street of Thanippadi on Wednesday morning. When people asked him to climb down, he insisted that Vaiko should contest. According to sources, Mr. Vaiko convinced him through a cell phone to climb down. He relented and climbed down after two hours of protest.
