Young advocates will have an opportunity to enrich their legal knowledge and hone their advocacy skills through the law academy proposed to be started by the 124-year-old Tiruchi Bar Association.
The “tripartite” law academy will be unique in the sense that it would involve the bar, the Bench, and academicians.
Though the objective of the academy is to offer guidance to young advocates aspiring for the post of district judge by taking the competitive examinations, its long-term plan is to impart continuous legal education to them.

Training will be imparted free of cost with all expenses being borne by senior members of the bar.
An organising committee comprising four advocates has been constituted to look after the regular functioning of the academy.

The “TTBA Law Academy” will be inaugurated in the city on Monday by V. Vijayakumar, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, in the presence of judicial officers, senior counsels, and members of Tiruchi Bar Association.
The Law academy is a pioneering initiative by the association with a long-term objective to provide continuous legal education to young advocates to develop their advocacy skills, says J. Veerapandian, president, Tiruchi Bar Association. The academy is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, he added. The academy will function at the combined courts complex here. Nearly 20,000 advocates will appear for the competitive examination to be held in Chennai on July 7 for 23 posts of district judge.
