Lankan court extends remand of TN fishermen

The remand of 35 local fishermen, arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on August 25, was on Monday extended by a Lankan court to September 23.

Puttalam Magistrate court extended the remand when the fishermen were produced, ‘Pamban Innocent Fishermen Organisation’ President U. Arulanandam said.

The fishermen were arrested when they were fishing near Katchatheevu.
