Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has termed the the union government’s land acquisition bill as draconian. Its State secretary I. Usman Khan said here on Thursday that if the bill was passed in the parliament, it would jeopardise farming operations in the country. A vast majority of the villagers depended solely on agriculture for their livelihood.
Owing to globalisation measures from 1991, suicides of farmers had become common place.
