A laboratory technician of Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital allegedly committed suicide in her house on Saturday.
Police said K. Vadakaasi (28) of Anbu Nagar in Perumalpuram, who was working as lab technician in the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital here, was affected by chicken pox and could not look after her four-year-old daughter and do the household work. When she asked her husband Kanagaraj (35), an eatery worker, to look after their daughter and do the domestic work, he could not get leave from the hotel owner.
Upset over this, Vadakaasi allegedly hanged herself in her house on Saturday early morning. Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelveli, P. Fermi Vidya visited the spot and conducted an enquiry. Perumalpuram police have registered a case.
