The government exhibition, which is conducted every year here, to showcase the official machinery’s achievements and welfare schemes will begin in third week of June this year.
Presiding over the preliminary meeting held at the Collectorate on Friday, District Revenue Officer P. Muthuramalingam, who is also District Collector (In-Charge), said the government exhibition would have stalls highlighting the achievements of the State Government, its welfare schemes and procedures to avail them. Further, the working models of various government projects and dams would be displayed in the exhibition.
The meeting decided that adequate number of personnel should be deployed in the stalls to explain to visitors the government schemes, especially the welfare programmes. The Corporation should post good number of sanitary workers to ensure cleanliness on the exhibition grounds where the fair would be conducted. Plastic drinking water containers should be kept at the venue.

While the Tirunelveli City Police would take care of security arrangements, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation should ensure the operation of good number of buses via the venue till 11 p.m. everyday. Two fire tenders and a first-aid unit should be kept ready at the venue till the end of the fair. “All stalls should be ready before the inaugural function to be held in the third week of June,” Mr. Muthuramalingam said.
