The government has declared a public holiday on August 9 on the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi.
According to a government order, the holiday declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881 would also apply to all State government undertakings, corporations, boards etc.
The order amended an earlier one declaring September 8 as a holiday.
