Nowhere in the world have film stars ruled for half a century. Fifty years, film artists had ruled the State. Can’t a doctor rule the State well enough? asked Pattali Makkal Katchi chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss here while addressing the party’s public meeting on Wednesday.

The PMK leader called upon people to give the educated, a doctor, a chance. According to him, 50 years of Dravidian rule was only littered with milestones of corruption. For this to change, people should first change, before they expect change of those who rule.

Slamming people for choosing to accept cash for votes, Dr. Anbumani urged people to give him five years to prove his plans for the State. “Decide for yourself if you want to lead a life with self respect and dignity or you want to be reduced to people that live on charity.” “You have 10 days time, think and vote; I ask for one chance,” he appealed. He urged the electorate of Krishnagiri to rescue Tamil Nadu from the two parties. Krishnagiri was the only district headquarters that did not have train connectivity; and it was a matter of shame, he added.
