Four persons of a family were nabbed for robbing a passenger in Tiruvannamalai bus stand on Friday night. Public caught them and handed them over to the police outpost in the bus stand.

According to Tiruvannamalai East Police, the complainant, Ambika, a resident of S. Kullur, was boarding a bus along with her relatives at the Tiruvannamalai bus stand on Friday night. Karthik and his relative Surya snatched her “thali” when she was waiting near a bus to board it while her relatives boarded it. They snatched the “thali” and robbed the gold dollar on it that weighed nearly two sovereigns.

However, passengers at the bus terminus caught the duo along with two of their relatives — Durga and Shanti — and handed them over to the police.
