Four detained under Goondas Act

A habitual offender K. Nataraj of Gopalpatti village in Sanarpatti union, who was involved in two-wheeler thefts and waylaying was detained under Goondas Act as per the recommendation of Superintendent of Police A. Saravanan here on Tuesday. Collector T.N. Hariharan issued necessary orders in this connection. He was lodged in Madurai prison. Three more offenders – D. Asithar Raja, I. Isakki Muthu, of Palayamkottai and K. Srinivasan of Chettikulam in Tirunelveli district – were also detained under Goondas Act as they were involved in several waylaying cases. They were prime accused in robbing Rs.12 lakh cash from Dharapuram-based groundnut trader on NH-7 near Pallapatti recently.
