Four arrested on charge of murder

October 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - BENGALURU:

In a scene straight out of a movie, two brothers from Adugodi avenged the suicide of their sister in 2012, by murdering the man they suspected was responsible for her death. The killing took place on October 20 and the suspects were arrested on Saturday.

Gabbu alias Venkatesh (35) was found dead with cuts all over his body in Adugodi on the night of October 20.

A team from the Banaswadi police station registered a case, and investigations revealed that Naveen (22) and Surya (21), two brothers from the locality who worked as cab drivers, could have been involved.

The duo was detained and upon questioning, they reportedly said that they along with two friends, Suresh (22) and Kumaresh (22), also from Adugodi, had killed Venkatesh.

“Naveen and Surya’s sister was in a relationship with the victim and wanted to marry him. But Venkatesh decided otherwise. The heartbroken girl committed suicide in 2012. The brothers turned vengeful after her death and decided to kill Venkatesh,” said an investigating officer.

Following a three-year-long wait, the brothers got information that the victim would be visiting a friend. “Around 9.30 p.m. on October 20, when Venkatesh came riding his motorcycle, one of the suspects attacked him from behind with a stick. When he fell off the motorcycle, the four men fatally attacked him with sharp weapons,” the officer said.
