Five years jail for inducing three to commit suicide

Salem court finds three persons guilty of offence

The II Additional Sub Court here sentenced three persons to five years imprisonment for inducing three persons to commit suicide.

According to prosecution, Dhanalakshmi (30), wife of Arunachalam of Thalaicholai village in Yercaud hills, is said to have developed illicit intimacy with Annamalai (45) of Sengadu area.

When Arunachalam condemned his wife for his behaviour, Dhanalakshmi, Annamalai and his relative Vadivel, attacked him.

Unable to bear the insult, Arunachalam committed suicide along with his two young sons.

Arrested

The Yercaud Police arrested all the three and filed a case in the II Additional Sub-Judge Court.

The Sub Judge R. Thangavel, found all the three guilty and sentenced them to undergo five years imprisonment.
