Eight, including the driver and conductor of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus, were injured after the bus turned on its side while negotiating a turn at Nallur Road Junction in Yercaud here on Thursday.
The small bus driven by Madeswaran (51) of Edappadi was on way to Yercaud from Vallakadai.
While nearing the junction, the brake of the bus failed.

The injured have been admitted to Government Hospital in Yercaud. Villagers said that accidents occur as the government buses were in poor condition.
Deer killed
A five-year-old spotted deer died at Kurumbapatti Zoological Park after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on Salem – Ulundurpet National Highway here on Thursday. Forest officials provided treatment to the deer at the Animal Husbandry Department, near Collectorate.

Later it was taken to the park. Officials said that the deer could have entered the city in search of food or water.
Hospital picketed
The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi picketed a private hospital near Five Road here on Thursday alleging that it was seeking Rs. 1 lakh to discharge to patients.
Govindaraj (45) of Thevattipatti, wife Kasturi, and their son Hariharan (6) met were admitted to the hospital after they met with an accident on October 19. Govindaraj died on Wednesday night.
It was alleged that the hospital asked the money to discharge Kasturi and Hariharan.
Mettur water level
Water level at Stanley Reservoir stood at 62.30 ft as against its full reservoir level of 120 ft here on Thursday.
The inflow was 2,740 cusecs and the discharge 8,700 cusecs.
Egg price up
The wholesale price of egg in the Namakkal Zone has increased by seven paise. The price was fixed at Rs. 3.25 on Thursday. Officials of the National Egg Coordination Committee said that the price rise was because of the increase in demand.
