‘Education should eradicate social evils’

Justice S. Vimala, Judge, Madras High Court, awards degrees at the graduation day of P.S.R. Engineering College and P.S.R. Rengasamy College of Engineering for Women in Sivakasi.

Education will develop socio-economic conditions of students from rural areas and encourage them to achieve greater heights, Justice S. Vimala, Judge, Madras High Court, said on Sunday.

She was addressing the 12th graduation day of P.S.R. Engineering College and 3rd graduation day of P.S.R. Rengasamy College of Engineering for Women, which were held jointly.

Stating that education would also be of paramount importance in eradicating social evils such as child labour, Justice Vimala asked students to use their thinking power for constructive purposes and be innovative.

A total of 517 students of P.S.R. Engineering College and 262 students of P.S.R. Rengasamy College of Engineering for Women received their degree certificates. Twenty-seven of them were university rank holders.

B.G. Vishnuram, Principal, P.S.R. Engineering College, and K. Ramasamy, Principal, P.S.R. Rengasamy College of Engineering for Women, read out academic reports of the institutions.

K.R. Viswanathan, Director (Academics), S. Ramesh, Dean (Academics), heads of various disciplines, faculty members, High Court dignitaries, students and parents were present.
