‘Education should bring about all-round development’

Education imparted to children should bring about physical, intellectual, spiritual, social and moral development, said the Governor, K. Rosaiah, on Wednesday.

Addressing the 17{+t}{+h}Annual Day celebrations of Bharathi Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School at Nagalapuram near here, Dr. Rosaiah expressed concern over decreasing moral and spiritual values and insisted that training of heart and mind and developing the spirit of compassion and character among students were the need of the hour.

It was imperative that the culture of research, creativity and innovation was spread among the young, budding citizens.

The Governor said that the youth of the country, who were the greatest asset and wealth, needed inspiration, right type of education and character.

He appreciated the school for inculcating moral and spiritual values and for providing quality education.

“Developing a positive mindset and a creative spirit rests with the teachers and educational institutions,” the Governor said and congratulated the Bharathi Vidya Mandir for making its students actively participate in extra-curricular activities and for initiating welfare schemes to improve their health and education. He appealed to the students to revitalise their energy, to be dynamic, bold and courageous and prepare themselves for rebuilding the nation.

Dr. Rosaiah declared open a new building named after Marie Curie on the occasion and distributed prizes to students for academic proficiency.
