An urgent meeting of the DMK executive committee will be held on June 22 to chalk out the next course of action and forms of protest against the AIADMK regime for arresting senior DMK leaders, including Veerapandi S. Arumugam.

A press release from the DMK headquarters said though party was committed to the principles of ‘duty, dignity and discipline’ it could no longer tolerate the vindictive actions of the State government and the executive committee would decide the mode of protest against it.

Accusing the AIADMK government of exceeding all limits and unleashing repressive measures against former DMK Ministers and district secretaries, the party said Mr. Arumugam had a track record of facing many difficult days, including the Emergency.
