The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will contest one Lok Sabha seat as part of the DMK alliance, party president, Prof K.M. Kader Mohideen, told reporters at Anna Arivalayam on Tuesday.

However, the IUML would contest on the ladder symbol and not on the DMK's rising sun symbol, Mr Kader Mohideen said.

He said though his party had demanded two seats, the DMK had agreed to give one. The name of the constituency will be announced later on Tuesday. The party had asked the DMK to allot a constituency from among Vellore, Mayiladuthurai, Tirunelveli and Tiruchi.
