“Develop soft skills”

TIRUCHI: 16/05/15: Chess player M. Kunal of Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi, being felicitated by M. Sakthivel, Area Head - South India, NIIT Limited, Chennai.

V.M. Muthukumar, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathidasan University, stressed on the need for students to improve their soft skills in his Graduation Day address at M.I.E.T Arts and Science College, Tiruchi. He presented degree certificates to 328 graduates in the presence of A. Mohamed Yunus, chairman, and J. Antony Raj, Principal.

Students honoured

Students of Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi, who excelled in sports during the 2014-15 academic year, were honoured at the ‘sports achievers felicitation and sports alumni day,’ organised by the Department of Physical Education of the college. M. Sakthivel, Area Head - South India, NIIT Limited, Chennai, felicitated the students in the presence of D. Paul Dhayabaran, Principal, and L.C. John, Director of Physical Education.

Graduation Day

Sky is the limit for potential candidates, said Madhan Shanmugasundaram, Delivery Manager, Infosys Limited, Chennai, in his Graduation Day address at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College, Perambalur. He presented degree certificates to 784 graduates and post-graduates, including 53 university rank holders. A. Adisaya Jency in Biomedical Engineering and R. Kavitha in Civil Engineering bagged university first ranks. B. Yashwanthi in Aeronautical Engineering and S. Umarani in Biomedical Engineering bagged second ranks. A. Srinivasan, founder and chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions, delivered the presidential address.

Nurses Day celebrated

International Nurses Day was celebrated at Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing and J.J. Institute of Nursing in Pudukottai. S. Sumithra, Principal, said that nursing students must work hard with sincerity, dedication, compassion and love and affection while taking care of patients in all health care settings. M. Vanichitradevi, Vice-Principal, said that nursing students must have empathy, following the rules and responsibilities, maintaining quality of nurse and be faithful with the patients in rendering the nursing care services in all areas.
