The police have detained R. Basha alias Badushamoideen (26) and S. Shekar (24) of Kitchipalayam under the Goondas Act. They were involved in robbing a man at knife point in Dadagapatti and threatening the public who tried to catch them. Inquiries revealed that they were involved in chain snatching incidents too.

The police have arrested two persons on the charge of possessing weapon without valid license. The police raided the house of Chetti (50) in Pottipuram village and found the weapon. Inquiries revealed that the gun belonged to Chinnapaiyan of Kamalapuram. The license was not renewed.
Assault case
The police are on the lookout for five persons who have allegedly beaten up Sulayutham (40), a salesman in Ramacoundar Thottam area in Suramangalam, for not giving rice.
