As many as 407 departmental staff in Tuticorin district appeared for written examination conducted by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) for recruitment of Sub-Inspectors of Police here on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police and Sub-Committee Chairman Ashwin M. Kotnis said they took the exam at BMC Matriculation School, Millerpuram, here. Twenty persons did not attend the three-hour- duration exam which had objective type questions.
Adequate arrangements had been made at the exam centre, and Mr. Kotnis inspected the proceedings. He said answer scripts were dispatched to TNUSRB, Chennai, amidst tight security.

As many as 292 police personnel in Kanyakumari district appeared for the exam on Sunday.
K. Chockalingam, Inspector General of Police, Coastal Security Group (CSG), and N. Manivannan, Superintendent of Police, inspected the examination centre at S.T. Hindu College in Nagercoil, sources said.
