The Southern Railway has introduced Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) rakes with toilet facility in the Salem - Vridhachalam section from Friday.

This is the first time that DEMU rakes with toilet facility have been introduced in the Salem Railway Division. The toilets are located at one end of each passenger car in the DEMU train.

Moreover, the coaches are interconnected by vestibules, enabling passengers to walk from one end to the other.
