Demonstration against land acquisition Ordinance

The All India Kissan Maha Sabha, and the Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam staged a demonstration near the Collectorate here on Monday asking the Union Government to withdraw the amendments to the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

They said that the proposed amendments were against the interests of the farmers.

Poor farmers would be left landless.

They said that the Ordinance relaxes the period of time for returning the unused land to farmers.

They said that many of the amendments would push farmers to more pitiable condition, and they would lose their livelihood.
