Claims to have received life-threatening calls from goons

Seeking inspiration: Jayalalithaa’s niece J. Deepa at the former Chief Minister’s burial site on Sunday.

Jayalalithaa’s niece J. Deepa visited the burial site of the former Chief Minister at the Marina Beach on Sunday night and meditated for around 40 minutes.

Dozens of her supporters accompanied her when she came to the site late in the evening.

Later, speaking to mediapersons, Ms. Deepa alleged that she had been receiving life-threatening calls from hired goons ever since she announced that she would contest in the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar by-poll, scheduled for April 12.
