The police have recovered decomposed bodies of a couple from a rock near Karuppur on late Saturday evening.
The local people found the body of a man on a rock and the body of a woman in a secluded place nearby.
On receiving information, Suramangalam police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Hospital for post-mortem.

Investigations revealed the identity of the victims as Chidambaram, a labourer of Vellakkalpatti, and Pappa, also of the same area.
Police have registered a case and are investigating.
