Couple killed in accident

DINDIGUL

Two persons were killed and two others injured in a multiple collision of vehicles on National Highway 7 near Vaigaigoundenpudhur near here on Sunday.

The deceased were S. Muthulakshmi (32) and her husband P. Soundara Pandian of Sulamangalam in Madurai.

After preliminary investigation, police said an SUV that was coming behind the van in which the couple were travelling dashed against it, and in the impact, the van rammed the lorry going ahead of it.

Muthulakshmi was killed on the spot and Soundara Pandian died on the way to hospital.

Their two children, who were also travelling with them, were referred to Dindigul Government Headquarters Hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this connection.
