Corporation school yet to get control of academic block

Even after two years a court ruled in favour of Jaiva Bhai Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School against Rotary Club’s school on the campus, it is yet to get back the academic block.

Even though the Rotary Club school was shifted after a few months after the verdict came in early 2015, the authorities concerned are yet to complete the formalities of handing over the academic building to Jaiva Bhai school authorities.

The Jaiva Bhai school, with a student strength of over 6,000 girls, is badly in need of the academic block that has 20 rooms.

This will help prevent students sitting on ground to attend classes, as happened during the 2016-17 academic year.

The academic block is spread over almost one acre.

Eswaran, State general council member of the Tamil Nadu Science Forum, has petitioned the District Collector expressing concern over the delay in handing over the building to school administrators.

“The corporation is yet to hand over the building to us. Repair works are under way, and we expect that it would be handed over to us before the school reopens on June 1,” said school headmistress R. Saraswathi.
