The Vellore district will have three counting centres. On Thursday, Collector Rajendra Ratnoo, who is the district election officer, and election observers, inspected two counting centres.
With polling for the Assembly elections scheduled for May 16, the counting of votes will be on May 19. Three counting centres have been established in the district - Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology covering five constituencies (Vellore, Anaicut, Katpadi, K.V. Kuppam and Gudiyatham), Marudhar Kesari Jain College for four constituencies (Tirupattur, Vaniyambadi, Ambur and Jolarpet) and Ranipet Engineering College for four constituencies (Arakkonam, Sholinghur, Ranipet and Arcot). The officials inspected the arrangements at the centres. They also took stock of the security arrangements for the counting centres. They inspected the counting rooms, strong rooms where the Electronic Voting Machines will be kept and work to erect barricades.
Election police observer Abdul Gani Mir, general observer Pradeep Kumar Agrewal and Superintendent of Police, Vellore P. Pakalavan were present.

In Tiruvannamalai Collector Pooja Kulkarni inspected the Assembly election counting centres on Thursday. She inspected Tiruvannamalai Regulated Market premises located in Tindivanam Road where votes of Tiruvannamalai and Chengam constituencies are to be counted and Shanmuga Industries Government Higher Secondary School in Chengam Road where votes of Keel Pennathur and Kalasapakkam constituencies are to be counted. District Revenue Officer S. Palani, Superintendent of Police R. Ponni, Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvannamalai, R. Umamaheswari and Deputy Superintendent of Police Saravanakumar were among those who accompanied her. Votes of Cheyyar and Vandavasi constituencies are to be counted in Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar.
Votes of Polur and Arani constituencies are to be counted in Anna University College of Engineering located in Thatchur near Arani.
