Ahead of the monsoon, the corporation has begun cleaning of major drains in each zone here on Wednesday.

Due to dumping plastic materials and waste materials in the drains, major drains get choked resulting in over-flowing. Officials said that drains will be cleaned in Chinnaiyan Colony, Kurinji Nagar, Maniyanoor housing board area, Andipatti housing board area, Panjandangi drain, coffee bar drain, Ketukadu and Karungalpatti drains.
