CII presents awards to entrepreneurs

Startups, emerging firms bag honours

Three entrepreneurs from the southern region walked away with The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region Entrepreneurs Awards 2018. K.T. Srinivasa Raja, Managing Director of Adyar Ananda Bhavan Sweets India Private Limited, Nithin Kamath who founded trading and stock broking firm Zerodha and Padmaja G. Reddy, the managing director of Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited, won the entrepreneur awards.

CII also gave away emerging entrepreneur awards and start-up awards. The founder of ID Fresh Food, P.C. Musthafa and P.J. Kunjachan, chairman and managing director of Arjuna Natural were the winners in the emerging entrepreneur category.

Startup firms, including Vamo Systems Private Limited founded by Prasanna K. Ram, Fipola Retail India Private Limited and WEGot Utility Solutions won awards.

C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman, CII-SR Entrepreneur Award 2018 said, “The objective of this award is to recognise, showcase and provide the necessary handholding to successful entrepreneurs to scale up in their businesses”.

R. Dinesh, Chairman, CII Southern Region said, “It is the opportune time for India to strengthen the global economic equation by training and skilling its workforce and inspiring people towards entrepreneurship.”

Lakshmi Narayanan, Chairman, jury committee, CII Southern Region Entrepreneurs Awards 2018, and vice-chairman (Emeritus) Cognizant said, “We need to create icons here by recognising them through awards at an early stage.”

C.K. Kumaravel, Founder and CEO of Naturals Salon and Spa Ltd pointed out that today’s entrepreneurs are the new age freedom fighters.
