Cauvery issue: AIADMK cadres observe day-long fast in delta districts

They were condemning the Centre's failure to constitute the Cauvery Management Board

Cadre of the AIADMK commenced their day-long fast in the delta and other districts in the central region condemning the Centre's failure to constitute the Cauvery Management Board (CMB).

In Tiruchi, the fast began at Chinthamani near the Chathram Bus Stand where senior AIADMK leader K.P. Munusamy, Ministers Vellamandi N. Natarajan and Valarmathi, besides Tiruchi MP P. Kumar participated. Fasts were also being observed at Perambalur, Ariyalur, Nagapattinam and Pudukottai districts.

Traders downed shutters in Tiruchi and Pudukottai to express their solidarity with the State government on the CMB issue.

Farmers associations have planned to lay siege at Tiruchi airport where AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran will participate along with his supporters later in the day.
