Building gives way due to incessant rain in Arakkonam, Vellore

Incessant rain over the last three days have damaged eight huts and houses so far, according to a press release issued by the District Collectorate, Vellore. Among them, seven were partly damaged and one completely destroyed.

In the latest incident, a two-storey building in Arakkonam collapsed on Saturday morning. Luckily, two families living in the building were away when the building caved in. Ashok Kumar, another resident, was rescued by the Fire and Rescue Services personnel.
