Aruppukottai Deputy Superintendent of Police S. Dhanapal and Inspector of Police (Aruppukottai Town) Balamurugan handed over the case diary files and materials, including, mobile phones seized by Virudhunagar district police, to Ms. Rajeswari.

The SP would immediately take up the investigation of the case pertaining to the complaint of Devi attempting to lure four girls of her college to do “some favour for higher officials of Madurai Kamaraj University” in return for higher marks and money to be periodically deposited in their bank accounts.

Meanwhile, a lawyer, J. Balasubramaniam, who met Devi at Madurai Central Prison on Wednesday evening, claimed that she faced threat to her life in the jail.
