All arrangements are in place at four counting centres in the district where counting of votes for all the 11 Assembly constituencies are to be carried on Thursday.
Counting of votes for Yercaud, Omalur, Salem South, Salem North, Salem South and Veerapandi constituencies will take place at Government Engineering College, Karuppur; for Gangavalli and Attur constituencies at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Attur; for Edappadi and Sankari constituencies at Vivekanandha College of Education; and Sankari and for Mettur constituency at Kavery Engineering College in Mecheri.
A total of 17 counting supervisors, 17 counting assistants, and 20 micro observers will monitor the counting for each constituency in the centres.

Counting of postal votes will begin at 8 a.m. followed by counting of votes registered at electronic voting machines at 8.30 a.m.
In Namakkal district, counting of votes for all the six Assembly constituencies will be held at Vivekanandha Educational Institutions in Tiruchengode. A total of 330 officers will be involved in the counting process.
A total of 11,01,120 electors had cast their votes on May 16 and the EVMs are currently kept in the strong room on the college premises under three-tier security.
