Appeal to Jayalalithaa

The Tamil Nadu AITUC Auto Workers Federation on Tuesday urged Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to take action against those who made money by issuing auto permits to everyone in the last five years and henceforth to issue permit only to auto drivers.

In a press release, Federation's general secretary J. Seshasayanam said the new government should take steps to ensure that welfare board benefits were provided to the members on time, supply diesel and petrol at subsidised rates and revise the auto meters in view of hike in fuel prices in the last few years.
