Collector M. Karunakaran inspected the ongoing anti-dengue operations at Puliyampatti village near Sankarankoil on Thursday.

When the Collector visited the village on January 23 following the death of a boy due to dengue, he saw stagnant water, providing a breeding ground for vector-borne diseases, and instructed the officials to drain the water and intensify anti-dengue measures.

To check whether they were carried out, he visited the village again on Thursday and told the officials to clean the drinking water tanks at regular intervals. Sanitation workers were instructed to clean drainage channels every day and drain stagnant water immediately.
