An inspiration to students

It was a more than an inspiring Republic Day celebrations at the 157-year-old Lawrence School in Lovedale near here on Monday.

By way of making the occasion memorable, ace international athletes Lalita Babbar of Maharashtra and O.P. Jaisha of Kerala, who are now undergoing high altitude training at Wellington, were requested by the headmistress of the school, Sangita Chima, to unfurl the tricolour. With the athletes deeming it an honour, the school rolled out the red carpet for them.

Ms.Chima said that apart from acknowledging the achievements of the athletes, the school wanted to use them to inspire the younger generation.
