Air Marshal Jasbir Walia visits IAF station

Air Marshal Jasbir Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, inspecting the guard of honour at the Air Force Station in Thanjavur on Wednesday.

The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, Air Marshal Jasbir Walia arrived at the Air Force Station here on two-day inspection visit on Wednesday.

This is his first visit here after assuming office as AOC-in-C Southern Air Command.

Station Commander Group Captain R.V. Shinde welcomed the Air Marshal after which the men presented an impressive guard of honour.

The AOC-in-C inspected various sections and units of the Air Force Station Thanjavur and reviewed the operational preparedness of the station.

Group Captain R.V. Shinde explained the activities of the Air Force Station that was being fast developed into a modern and premier fighter air base in southern India.

Air Marshal Jasbir Walia inspected various aerospace safety initiatives at the station.

While addressing the station personnel, he appreciated the involvement and enthusiasm of all the personnel in ensuring a high degree of operational readiness.

Air Marshal Jasbir Walia was accompanied by Harbinder Walia, president, AFWWA (Regional).

Ms. Walia lauded the various ventures run by AFWWA (local) for the welfare of wives of Air Force personnel.
