AIADMK plans public meetings on Cauvery in delta districts

Chief Minister to speak in Tiruvarur on April 27

The AIADMK has announced a series of public meetings between April 25 and 29 in the Cauvery delta districts to urge the Centre to set up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), in line with the judgment of the Supreme Court.

Party Convenor and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, Co-Convenor and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and senior party leader and Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha M. Thambi Durai, besides other Ministers, are to address public meetings across the delta districts, explaining the State government’s stand on the CMB.

On April 25, Mr. Panneerselvam and Handlooms and Textiles Minister O.S. Manian would address an event in Nagapattinam district, while Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani, Fisheries Minister D. Jayakumar and party functionaries Thamarai S. Rajendran and R.T. Ramachandran would speak in Ariyalur and Perambalur districts the same day.

A line-up of veterans

The following day, AIADMK MP R. Vaithilingam, Electricity Minister P. Thangamani and Agriculture Minister R. Doraikkannu would speak in Thanjavur district.

On April 27, School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan and Tourism Minister Vellamandi N. Natarajan would speak in Tiruchi district.

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami would address a public meeting in Tiruvarur district on April 27, as would Food Minister R. Kamaraj. Mr. Thambi Durai and Transport Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar, along with party functionary Vaigaichelvan, would speak in Karur district on April 28.

The party’s Joint Coordinator, K.P. Munusamy, Law Minister C.Ve. Shanmugam and Industries Minister M.C. Sampath would speak in Cuddalore district on April 29. On the same day, Forests Minister Dindigul C. Sreenivasan and Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar would address meetings in Pudukottai district.
