AIADMK functionary expelled for anti-party activities

AIADMK general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has expelled Namakkal District Jayalalithaa Peravai deputy president K. Nallathambi for his anti-party activities on Friday.

In a party communiqué announcing the expulsion, the general secretary said that he worked against the party and also accused him of bringing disrepute to the party. She also asked the party men not to have any truck with them.

Mr. Nallathambi was not available for comments.

He is currently the president of State Lorry Owners’ Federation – Tamil Nadu. He participated in the meeting conducted by DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin in Namakkal last week.

At the meeting, he was said to have aired the problems the industry was facing in the past four years after the AIADMK came to power.
