Mr. Rajarathinam said he filed a petition before Valliyoor Judicial Magistrate Court under Section 156 (3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure as the police did not act on a complaint filed by him.

“Following this, the police authorities entered my house without prior notice, threatened my family and took me to Radhapuram police station. I was subjected to abuse at the hands of the authorities,” said the petitioner.

The petitioner said he was later taken to Uvari police station, where he was remanded and kept in an unhygienic condition. After being let off, the petitioner said, he was admitted to Palayamkottai Government Hospital for treatment.
