Questioning the Central government for organising a programme for IAS officials at Isha (Foundation) Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, an advocate through a legal notice dated November 6 has urged that the programme should not be held at the centre as the State had issued a notice for violating norms.

A G.O dated October 28 last year had arranged an ‘Inner Engineering Leadership Programme’ for IAS, IPS, IFoS and Group-A officers during December this year and January next year in many places, including at the Isha Yoga Centre. Claiming that the centre was issued a ‘locking and sealing demolition notice’ by the Deputy Director, Town and Country Planning, Coimbatore Region, on December 24, 2012, the advocate, M. Vetriselvan, had said that a related PIL plea was also pending before the Madras High Court.

Alleging that the centre had committed offences under the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971, he demanded that it be removed from the list of places for the training programme.
